About us

Volunteers preparing meals in the In Touch kitchen

In Touch Foundation is a small charity based in Bradford. We started in 2014 when a group of locals decided that the city needed a regular service for people sleeping rough, and that something as simple as a hot meal could make a real difference. Ten years on, we're still running the mobile kitchen, and we still believe the same thing.

What we do

We run a mobile kitchen three times a week in Bradford city centre. Volunteers cook food at our base, drive it out to set locations, and serve it to anyone who comes along. There's no sign-up, no questions asked, and nobody is turned away.

Alongside the food we offer hot drinks, conversation, and information about other services in Bradford that can help people who are sleeping rough or in housing crisis. Sometimes the chat is more important than the meal.

Our values

DIGNITY

Treating people as people

Everyone deserves respect. We don't ask for ID or proof of need. If you're hungry, that's enough.

CONSISTENCY

Showing up

We've been at the same locations on the same days for years. People know where to find us, and we never stop turning up.

COMMUNITY

Working together

We partner with local shelters, food banks and outreach teams. The problem is too big for any one charity alone.

The team

We're entirely volunteer-run. There are no paid staff, no fancy offices, and every penny donated goes directly into food, fuel, and the kitchen kit we need to keep going. The team is made up of around thirty regular volunteers, plus dozens more who help out with one-off events and fundraising.

If you'd like to be part of the team, head to our volunteer page to find out more.
